Around Us

There is excellent fishing on the Test River Stockbridge, Dever Springs Barton Stacey or Charlton Lakes Andover.
There are many walks from the leisurely to those suitable for the hiker including the Testway Walk which runs next to the village playing fields with most crossing over the village square.
It is a cyclists paradise with the ups and downs of the country lanes, idyllic scenery and many watering holes all down the valley bears well for our two wheeled friends.

“The pub is a traditional English country pub, serves Badger beers and is family and dog friendly. Phil the owner served a fabulous Roast beef with also Pork and Turkey roasts. There was a great selection of well cooked vegetables. The Sunday carvery is very reasonable priced and is the best roast I have had to date. Highly recommended.”

“The bar atmosphere is friendly. The Landlord (Phil) and staff are very welcoming. The Inn is situated in the centre of a beautiful, quaint village.”

“I love a good fish and chip meal in a pub so I have had quite a few, and I think this has to be the best yet! We went on a fine day so managed to sit outside in the courtyard area to eat which was very pleasant too. One member of our party is a coeliac (gluten free) and they had no problem catering for him. All food is freshly prepared and quite delicious!”

“Great carvery (and lots of it), the pub has lots of lovely olde worlde charm. Super friendly staff and great value for money. Definitely worth a visit for the Bellini icepops if nothing else Perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.”

— Debbie Britten
“Been twice this week and both times had the belly pork with crackling. Loved the chilli squid starter and the service is faultless. Thank you for two fantactic meals.”
